Planet Nails Monomer is MMA FREEHEMA FREE and SOLVENT FREE.  If you would like the MSDS please download it from the downloads page.

Our acrylic liquid is a low odour, violet, non-yellowing, colour stable liquid that provides consistency and strength. Formulated for easy application and increased adhesion. UV inhibitors ensure colour stability and plasticizers decrease chipping and breaking also providing strength and flexibility through unique cross-linking plasticizers. The liquid is designed to be used with a "medium consistency" application technique throughout the entire nail. That means you will use less liquid in your powder to liquid ratio. You get a "Creamy" feel of application.

Salon Safety Summary (Trade name/code: P 785 0000)

Hazards

Signal word: WARNING
  • Flammable liquid and vapors
  • Irritating to eyes, skin and respiratory system
  • May cause sensitization by skin contact
  • Unstable/reactive upon depletion of inhibitor
  • High concentration vapors may cause dizziness, headache, anesthetic effects

Ingredients

Ingredient Concentration Key Hazard
Ethyl Methacrylate Monomer 60.0 – 100.0% Flammable; irritant; skin sensitizer
Hydroxypropyl Methacrylate (HPMA) 10.0 – 30.0% Skin sensitizer (allergic reaction on repeat exposure)
Alkyl Dimethacrylate 7.0 – 13.0% No specific hazard data
Dimethyl-p-Toluidine (DMPT) 1.0 – 5.0% Absorbed through skin; can raise blood methemoglobin levels (bluish lips/fingernails)

Contains an inhibitor (<1%) to prevent unwanted polymerization; inhibitor levels should be checked periodically.

First Aid

Eyes: Flush with lukewarm water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation occurs.

Skin: Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, then wash with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation, redness, or swelling persists.

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Seek immediate medical attention.

Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Drink plenty of water or milk immediately. Get medical attention immediately.

Note to physician: DMPT exposure can cause methemoglobin formation (cyanosis), which is reversible; treat with rest, oxygen, and if severe, methylene blue and vitamin B12.

Handling & Protective Equipment

  • Keep away from heat, sparks, and flame; keep container closed after each use
  • Wear chemical-resistant gloves (nitrile rubber preferred over PVC) and impervious clothing to avoid ANY skin contact
  • Wear safety glasses or chemical goggles when splashing is possible
  • Use local, explosion-proof ventilation to keep exposure below limits
  • Store in a cool, dry location away from sunlight, heat, sparks, and flame
  • Check inhibitor levels periodically; maintain headspace in containers

This summary reflects everyday salon use. The full SDS also covers scenarios such as bulk storage, large spills, and transport, which do not typically apply in a salon setting.
