PUG Fortify is the thixotropic hard gel in the PUG family. Unlike self-levelling hard gels, Fortify stays exactly where you place it. It holds its position on the nail and only becomes fluid when actively worked with the brush. The moment you stop, it holds. This makes it the precision tool in the range, ideal for armouring, restoration, dual forms, and sculpting where you need the gel to stay put while you work.

Fortify is suitable for any nail technician and any client. Because it doesn't flow on its own, it gives techs more working time and control compared to self-levelling gels, an advantage for techs still building confidence. The only consistent difference: Fortify will always need to be filed to finish. There is no no-file result with Fortify. Available in Clear, Milky, Bliss and Rosy.

What is thixotropic? A thixotropic gel is thick and stable at rest, but becomes workable under the movement of a brush. It flows just enough to place and shape, then holds when you stop. Ideal for dual forms, armouring, and precision work where a self-levelling gel would spread too far.

APPLICATION: STANDARD PROTOCOL

STEP 1: PREP Sanitise nails with The One Spray. Push back skin folds and buff to remove all shine.
STEP 1: PREP Apply nail tips, dual forms, or nail forms if required.
STEP 1: PREP Apply PN Nail Prep to natural nail only. Allow to dry (optional).
STEP 2: BOND / PRIME Apply PN Sticky Bond or Sticky Bond HF sparingly to natural nail only. Allow to become tacky.
STEP 3: BASE Apply a base coat layer of your chosen Planet Nails rubber base. Do not touch the skin folds or sidewall areas. Seal all sides of the free edge. Cure under the PN Speciality Dual Cure Lamp for 60 to 90 seconds. Alternatively, apply PUG Clear as a base coat.
STEP 4: BUILD Pick up a bead of PUG Fortify with your gel brush. Apply to the free edge and/or nail, pulling the gel toward you to seal and build the desired structure. The thixotropic consistency holds position, so work with precision and place the product exactly where it is needed. Seal all sides of the free edge. Cure under the PN Speciality Dual Cure Lamp for 60 seconds (405nm LED) or 2 minutes (365nm UV).
STEP 4: BUILD Repeat with a second layer if additional structure or length is required. Seal the free edge and cure.
FINISH Remove tacky layer with The One Spray and a PN Lint Free Wipe.
FINISH File and shape into the desired finished form. Seal the underside of the free edge for maximum durability. Buff to remove scratches.
FINISH Wash hands thoroughly to remove product dust and residue.
FINISH Apply The One Spray to a nail wipe and sanitise.
TOP COAT Apply Planet Gel Polish Top Coat. Seal all sides of the free edge. Cure under the PN Speciality Dual Cure Lamp for 60 seconds. Wipe with The One Spray and a lint-free wipe.
AFTERCARE Client to wash hands before applying any cuticle oil or hand cream.

REMOVAL

PUG Fortify is a permanent hard gel: file off only. Cannot be removed with acetone.

1 De-bulk the surface using a 100/180 file or e-file de-bulking bit. File only the product. Do not touch the natural nail.
2 Continue filing until thin. Switch to a finer grit close to the nail surface.
3 If a rubber base was applied underneath, file to the base layer and soak off in acetone for approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
4 Buff lightly to remove residue and smooth the nail surface.
5 Nails are ready for a fresh application.
