PUG: PLANET ULTIMATE GEL (HARD GEL)

PUG stands for Planet Ultimate Gel. It is our most durable hard gel formula, making it great for clients exposed to water or chemicals such as nurses and hairdressers. A single process hard gel that offers low to no heat during curing, PUG applies effortlessly smooth, self-levels, and can form nail extensions in one step. It combines the adhesion of a base gel, the strength and durability of a hard builder, and the high-gloss scratch resistance of a top glaze, all in one product. Provides up to 4 weeks of flawless wear. Available in multiple viscosities. Low odour. Applied from a jar with a separate gel brush.

Removal tip: If you apply a soak-off base like Lastik or Stick 'n Float under PUG, you can file through the hard gel down to the base layer and soak off in acetone from there, significantly reducing removal time.

APPLICATION: STANDARD PROTOCOL

STEP 1: PREP Sanitise nails with The One Spray. Push back skin folds and buff to remove all shine.
STEP 1: PREP Apply nail tips, cut and blend, or fit nail forms (optional).
STEP 1: PREP Apply PN Nail Prep to natural nail only. Allow to dry chalky white (optional).
STEP 2: BOND / PRIME Apply PN Sticky Bond or Sticky Bond HF sparingly to natural nail only. Allow to become tacky.
STEP 3: BASE Apply a base coat layer of your chosen Planet Nails rubber base over the entire nail. Do not touch the skin folds or sidewall areas. Seal all sides of the free edge. Cure under the PN Speciality Dual Cure Lamp for 60 to 90 seconds.
STEP 4: BUILD Pick up a moderate bead of PUG with your gel brush. Place starting 1mm from the skin fold and float the product across the nail, building the apex as needed. Seal all sides of the free edge. Cure under the PN Speciality Dual Cure Lamp for 60 seconds (405nm LED) or 2 minutes (365nm UV).
STEP 4: BUILD Repeat with another layer if additional structure or length is required. Seal the free edge and cure.
FINISH Remove tacky layer with The One Spray and a PN Lint Free Wipe.
FINISH File to an even smooth finish. Buff to remove scratches.
FINISH Wash hands thoroughly to remove product dust and residue.
FINISH Apply The One Spray to a nail wipe and sanitise the nails.
TOP COAT Apply Planet Gel Polish Top Coat. Seal all sides of the free edge. Cure under the PN Speciality Dual Cure Lamp for 60 seconds. Wipe with The One Spray and a lint-free wipe.
AFTERCARE Client to wash hands before applying any cuticle oil or hand cream.

REMOVAL

PUG is a hard gel: file off only. Cannot be soaked directly in acetone.

1 File the surface with a 180 grit file or e-file de-bulking bit. Keep the file moving. Do not over-file or apply pressure.
2 Continue filing until you reach the base layer. If a rubber base was applied, the texture will shift from powdery to rubbery.
3 Soak fingertips in acetone for approximately 5 to 10 minutes. PN Quick Soak Bowls with warm water in the base container speed up the process.
4 Gently slide off remaining product with an Orangewood Stick from skin fold to free edge.
5 Buff lightly with a buffer to remove residue. Do not over buff or apply pressure.
6 Nails are ready for a fresh application.
Planet Nails strongly recommends infilling over full removal where possible. De-bulk down to a thin layer with your e-file and apply fresh product on top. The natural nail stays intact and prep time is significantly reduced.
