In Stock

PUG Bliss is a permanent, file-off hard gel in a soft nude. It is easy to apply and self-levelling, with a thicker viscosity that runs slower and gives you longer workability. High-gloss and built for technicians who want a natural-looking result with serious hard gel strength behind it.

PUG Bliss combines the adhesion of a base gel, the strength and durability of a hard builder (the same as PUG Clear, but with a thicker viscosity), and the high-gloss, scratch-resistant finish of a top glaze, all in one product. The soft nude tone at 70% coverage evens out nail colour and delivers a polished, skin-flattering finish that works as a standalone result or as a base for French and neutral nail styles. It is well suited to overlays, tip overlays and sculptures over forms.

HEMA-free and TPO-free, formulated in the EU to EU cosmetic regulations. Low heat profile. File off only.

Available in 25ml. Also available in 45ml.

Please note: jar fill level

Due to gel expansion in fluctuating temperatures, PUG Bliss 25ml jars are filled to 25ml of product in a 30ml jar. The jar includes a seal, so please do not discard it. Replace the seal each time you close the jar to prevent leaking and spillage, particularly in warm or hot conditions.

USE CASES

Hard Gel Structured Manicure / Overlay

Applied over a Planet Nails rubber base on the natural nail, PUG Bliss builds structure, an apex, and hard gel strength with a soft nude finish. The thicker viscosity runs slower for more control, then settles into an even layer, producing a polished result that works as a complete standalone finish or as a base for gel polish and nail art.

Tip Overlay

Apply over tip extensions as a structural overlay. The thicker viscosity gives you longer workability over the tip, and PUG Bliss blends into the natural nail, with the soft nude tone softening the tip join for a natural finish.

Sculptures Over Forms

PUG Bliss can be used for sculptures over forms. Its thicker viscosity is slower to run, which gives you longer working time for structured builds. For precision sculpting where non-self-levelling control is required, see PUG Fortify Bliss.

French and Neutral Nail Styles

The soft nude base makes PUG Bliss a natural fit for French manicures, neutral nail styles, and everyday wear. Wear it clean as a polished standalone finish, or pair with a white tip for a classic French look with hard gel durability.

Hard Gel Infill / Rebalance

Use PUG Bliss to infill and rebalance existing hard gel overlays at the regrowth appointment. De-bulk as needed, apply to the new growth area and blend over the existing product, then cure and file to finish.

APPLICATION: STANDARD PROTOCOL

1 Sanitise nails using The One Spray. Push back cuticles and buff to remove all traces of shine.
2 Apply nail tips or forms if required, cut and blend (optional step).
3 Apply PN Nail Prep to the natural nail only. Allow to dry (optional step).
4 Apply PN Sticky Bond or Sticky Bond HF sparingly to the natural nail only. Allow to become tacky.
5 Apply a base coat layer of your chosen Planet Nails rubber base over the entire nail. Do not touch the cuticle or sidewall areas. Seal all sides of the free edge. Cure 60 to 90 seconds.
6 Pick up a bead of PUG Bliss with your gel brush. Place starting 1mm away from the cuticle and float the product across the nail, building the apex as needed. Seal all sides of the free edge. Cure 60 seconds (405nm LED) or 2 minutes (365nm UV).
7 Repeat with a second layer if additional structure or length is required. Seal the free edge and cure.
8 Remove the tacky layer with The One Spray and a PN Lint Free Wipe.
9 File to an even, smooth finish. Buff with a buffer to remove scratches.
10 Wash hands thoroughly to remove product residue and dust.
11 Apply The One Spray to a nail wipe to sanitise. The nail is now ready for gel polish colour or top coat.
First-time clients: apply thin
Always apply a thin first layer on new clients before building up. This allows you to gauge heat sensitivity before proceeding to a full build. PUG Bliss is HEMA and TPO free with a low heat profile, but individual sensitivity always varies, so a thin first layer is best practice with any hard gel builder. For sensitive clients, Lastik HF is recommended as the first layer.
Heat spike protocol
If a client experiences heat during curing, instruct them to remove their hand from the lamp immediately and press their fingertips flat on top of the lamp. This relieves the sensation and the infrared sensor will switch the lamp off automatically. Once comfortable, they can return their hand and the lamp will restart the full timer.

ABOUT PUG BLISS

PUG, Planet Ultimate Gel, was built on a love of dogs and a determination to make hard gel accessible without compromising on performance. Strong, self-levelling, and low-heat, the PUG range has grown to offer a solution for every hard gel need and working style, and Bliss is the soft nude of the family.

PUG Bliss combines the adhesion of a base gel, the strength and durability of a hard builder, and the high-gloss scratch-resistant finish of a top glaze, all in one product. With the strength and durability of PUG Clear, a thicker viscosity and longer workability, it is well suited to overlays, tip overlays, sculptures over forms, and natural-finish nail styles where a polished, skin-flattering result is the goal.

HEMA-free and TPO-free, formulated in the EU to EU cosmetic regulations, PUG Bliss has a low heat profile compared to traditional hard gels. As with all hard gel builders, a heat conversation with new clients before the service is always recommended.

For precision work including armouring, restoration, dual forms, and sculpting where a non-self-levelling consistency is required, see PUG Fortify Bliss. For a hard gel in a brush-on bottle format in a similar tone, see PUGGLE Linen.

UNDERSTANDING HEAT SPIKES

Every gel curing reaction releases some heat as part of the chemistry. When the cure is slow and controlled, heat dissipates gradually and the client feels little to nothing. When it is fast, heat is released all at once, and the client may experience a heat spike.

Hard gel builders form more bonds during curing than soft gels, which means more heat is generated as a category. PUG Bliss is formulated with controlled photo initiators to regulate this process, and the HEMA and TPO free formula delivers a low heat profile. Individual sensitivity still varies, so a heat conversation with new clients is always worthwhile.

Key factors that increase heat spike risk:

Thick application More product = more bonds = more heat. Apply in thin, even layers.
Thin or damaged nails Less nail plate = less insulation. A Planet Nails rubber base applied underneath provides a buffer layer between the natural nail and the hard gel above.
High lamp output A faster cure releases heat all at once. Use the Low Heat mode on your PN lamp for sensitive clients.
Client history Always ask new clients whether they have experienced heat spikes with hard gel before, and examine the nail plate for signs of pre-existing damage before starting.

Educate every new client about the possibility of a heat spike and what to do if it occurs before the service begins. A brief conversation upfront prevents a painful experience mid-service.

REMOVAL

PUG Bliss is a permanent hard gel. It is file off only and cannot be removed with acetone.

1 De-bulk the surface using the 100-grit side of a 100/180 file or an e-file de-bulking bit. File only the product surface, and do not touch the natural nail.
2 Continue filing carefully until the product layer is thin. Switch to a finer grit to remove remaining product close to the nail surface without damage.
3 If a Planet Nails rubber base was applied beneath, file down to the base layer and soak off the remaining base with acetone, approximately 10 to 15 minutes. This significantly reduces total removal time.
4 Buff lightly with a buffer to remove any residue and smooth the nail surface.
5 Nails are ready for a fresh application.
Infill vs full removal
Planet Nails strongly recommends infilling over full removal where possible. De-bulk down to a thin even layer and apply fresh product on top. The natural nail stays intact and prep time at the next appointment is significantly reduced.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the difference between PUG Bliss and PUG Fortify Bliss?

Both share a similar tone but behave very differently. PUG Bliss is a self-levelling hard gel with a thicker viscosity. It is slower to run, giving longer workability, and settles into an even layer, making it ideal for overlays, tip overlays, and sculptures over forms. PUG Fortify Bliss is thixotropic and does not self-level. It holds its position on the nail and is designed for precision work including armouring, restoration, dual forms, and freehand sculpting.

What is the difference between PUG Bliss and PUG Clear?

PUG Bliss has the same strength and durability as PUG Clear, but with a thicker viscosity and a soft nude tone at 70% coverage. The thicker viscosity is slower to run, which gives you longer workability. PUG Clear is thinner and self-levels faster.

What is the difference between PUG Bliss and PUGGLE Linen?

Both are hard gels in a similar tone, but they differ in format and consistency. PUG Bliss comes in a jar and is applied with a separate gel brush. PUGGLE Linen comes in a bottle with a built-in brush and has a thinner, more fluid consistency designed to self-level from the brush with minimal manipulation. PUGGLE Linen is also suitable for a no-file finish on the right client, while PUG Bliss will typically require some filing to finish.

Is PUG Bliss HEMA-free and TPO-free?

Yes. PUG Bliss is both HEMA-free and TPO-free, manufactured in the EU to EU cosmetic regulations.

What base should I use under PUG Bliss?

Any Planet Nails rubber base: Stick 'n Float, Lastik, or Lastik HF, whichever best suits your client. A rubber base provides a flexible bridging layer between the natural nail and the hard gel above, improves retention, and creates a soak-off pathway that significantly reduces removal time. It is particularly recommended for clients prone to lifting, or clients with thin, weak, damaged or brittle nails. Always apply Sticky Bond or Sticky Bond HF to the natural nail before the base coat.

Can PUG Bliss be soaked off?

No. PUG Bliss is a permanent hard gel and must be filed off. However, if a Planet Nails rubber base was applied underneath, you can file through the hard gel layer down to the base and soak off the remaining base with acetone, significantly reducing total removal time.

Which size should I choose, 25ml or 45ml?

The 25ml is ideal for trialling the shade or for technicians who rotate across multiple PUG colours. The 45ml is the better value option for technicians who use PUG Bliss as a primary builder across a full client schedule.
