Lastik

LASTIK: RUBBER BASE AND BUILDER GEL
FLEXIBLE HYBRID RUBBER BASE + BUILDER SOAK-OFF SELF-LEVELLING

Lastik is our original flexible hybrid: a rubber base and builder gel in one bottle. It has excellent adhesion and a self-levelling, medium viscosity that is easy to work with, and it flexes with the natural nail so it won’t crack or pop off when the nail bends. Ideal for thin, flaky, splitting, brittle and flexible nails, with 2 to 3 weeks of wear.

Use Lastik as a rubber base, a builder, or both. It’s great for structured (BIAB) manicures, gel overlays, short tip extensions and as an upgrade from a standard gel polish base. Clear Lastik is also ideal for nail art, adhering gems and encapsulating glitter. Available in Clear, Nudes, Pastels and Shimmers.

Choosing your rubber base: Lastik is the starting point for most clients. For HEMA free salons or HEMA sensitive clients, use Lastik HF. For oily or sweaty nails, or persistent lifting, switch to Stick ’n Float as your base coat.
Problem lifters: Lastik also works as a rubber base under acrylic or hard gel. At removal, file down to the Lastik layer and soak off the rest.

APPLICATION: STANDARD PROTOCOL

PREPSanitise nails with The One Spray. Push back skin folds and buff to remove all shine.
PREPApply nail tips, cut and blend (optional).
STEP 1: NAIL PREPApply PN Nail Prep to the natural nail only. Allow to air dry.
STEP 2: BONDApply PN Sticky Bond sparingly to the natural nail only. Allow to become tacky.

STEP 4: BUILDApply a thin wetting layer of Lastik (do not cure). Pick up a moderate bead and place it 1mm from the skin fold. Float it over the nail, using a liner brush to draw product to the sides without disturbing the apex. Seal the free edge. Cure 60 to 90 seconds (LED) or 2 to 3 minutes (UV). Keep each layer under 1.5 to 2mm.
STEP 4: BUILDRepeat with another layer if more structure is needed. Seal the free edge and cure.

REMOVAL

Lastik is a semi-permanent soak-off gel and is removed with acetone.

1De-bulk the surface with the 100 grit side of a 100/180 file or an e-file de-bulking bit. File the product only, never the natural nail. The more you de-bulk, the faster the soak.
2Soak fingertips in acetone for approximately 15 to 20 minutes. PN Quick Soak Bowls with warm water in the base container speed up the process.
3Gently slide off remaining product with an Orangewood Stick or soak-off scraper, working from skin fold to free edge.
4Buff lightly to remove any residue. Do not over buff or apply pressure.
5Nails are ready for a fresh application.
Infill between soak-offs: Soaking off and reapplying at every appointment can damage the natural nail over time. Instead, de-bulk to a thin layer and apply fresh product on top. As this is a semi-permanent gel, a full soak-off after 2 or 3 infills is fine, and sometimes needed. A thin Clear base makes infills easy, as Clear shades adhere better than Nudes.
