Top 10 Gel Polish Shades Carrying 2026 So Far

Six months of sales, ten shades that refused to sit on the shelf.

Quick answer: OOH, OYO and ONO are still the shades to beat halfway through 2026 — but ADA (red) and LEX (black) have pushed into the top five, and JEN's slipped from #2 to #6. Below, what's actually moving and why it matters for your next order.

What changed since 2025

This is unit sales from January through July 2026 — not a popularity contest, just what's been reordered. The nudes are still dominant, but reds had a real moment this half, and a shimmer shade cracked the top ten for the first time.

Same base formulation across the board: HEMA-free, soak-off, dual-cure for UV and LED. The difference is always in how each shade behaves on the nail — sheer and buildable, solid from coat one, or something in between. We've flagged that per shade below.

The ten leading 2026

1

OOH P139 · Nude

Still the shade to beat. OOH is sheer enough to look like healthy nail rather than painted nail — one to two coats and you're done. Six months in and it's not slowing down.

1–2 coats · Semi-transparent
2

OYO P138 · Nude

OOH's warmer sister, holding steady at #2. Same one-to-two-coat sheer build, just deeper — the swap for clients who want OOH but lean warm-toned.

1–2 coats · Semi-transparent
3

ONO P142 · Milky White

The milky-nail look isn't fading. ONO wants three-plus coats, or one coat of white base under a single coat of colour — skip that and you'll get a patchy version of a look that's supposed to be sheer and glowy, not opaque.

3+ coats or white base · Sheer
4

ADA P001 · Red

New to the top five, and reds don't usually move like this. A true, fully opaque red — no undertone guessing, no build-up needed. Worth a second look if you haven't stocked it heavily yet.

Full coverage · Opaque
5

LEX P141 · Black

The black every kit needs, now selling like one too. Fully opaque, no undertone weirdness, pairs cleanly with JEN or ONO for negative-space work.

Full coverage · Opaque
6

JEN P140 · White

Down from #2 to #6, but don't read too much into it — JEN's still a rock-solid opaque white from the first coat, and it's what makes two-tone French and milk-bath sets work.

Full coverage · Opaque
7

REY P133 · French Pink / Nude

A softer, pinker take on the French-tip nude. Sheer by design — expect to build it the same way you would OOH or OYO for a clean, natural tip.

Buildable · Sheer
8

ZAHRA P358 · Shimmer

The first shimmer to crack the top ten this year. Shimmers carry more pigment per coat than a plain sheer nude, but they still build gradually — go thin and layer rather than flooding the brush for full shimmer payoff.

Buildable · Shimmer
9

YVETT P368 · Red

A deeper, more brooding red than ADA — proof reds aren't a one-shade category right now. Fully opaque, no sheer build required.

Full coverage · Opaque
10

ALI P131 · Nude

A lighter, milkier nude rounding out the top ten — the pick for clients who want OOH's natural look but a shade or two paler.

Buildable · Sheer

Questions we get about this list

Has the most popular gel polish shade changed in 2026?

Not at the top — OOH is still our best-seller. What's changed is the shape of the list underneath it: red (ADA) and black (LEX) have moved up, and a shimmer shade (ZAHRA) made the top ten for the first time.

Do all these shades need the same number of coats?

No. Sheer nudes like OOH, OYO, REY and ALI are one-to-two-coat builds. ONO's milky finish wants three-plus coats or a white base. Opaque shades — JEN, LEX, ADA, YVETT — go on solid faster. Shimmer shades like ZAHRA build gradually in thin layers.

Are reds trending in 2026?

Looks that way. Two reds — ADA and YVETT — landed in our top ten for the first half of 2026, sitting at noticeably different depths, which suggests clients are asking for red generally, not one specific shade of it.

The bottom line

Halfway through 2026, the nudes still anchor the list — but reds and a shimmer shade have earned real shelf space. If you're restocking based on data, OOH, OYO and ONO remain your non-negotiables, and it's worth topping up on ADA and LEX before they outpace your last order.
