Planet Nails Dual Forms #3 — The Tapered Extension Form for Coffin, Almond and Longer Lengths
PLANET NAILS DUAL FORMS
Dual forms are reusable plastic molds that let you build nail extensions and overlays from the top down — no glue, no paper forms, no hand-sculpting required. You fill the form with your chosen product, press it onto the nail, cure, and pop it off to reveal a perfectly shaped, glossy enhancement with minimal filing. Dual forms are a fantastic way to speed up your base structure, giving you more time to focus on design and finishing.
Unlike traditional tips, dual forms are reusable, fully customisable, and work with a range of systems — including Polygel (we love Planet Iconic), hard builder gels (like PUG), and acrylic. The key to great results is choosing the right form for your client's nail anatomy and desired shape — which is exactly what our numbering system is designed to help with.
Dual Forms #3 are purpose-built for tapered shapes and longer lengths. The straight longitudinal arch is the key difference here — rather than following the natural curve of the nail, it projects straight out from the free edge, which is exactly what you need to create clean, tapered extensions like coffin and almond without the nail looking hooked. The 30% C-curve gives excellent sidewall coverage without being so deep that it becomes difficult to manage, and the pronounced apex provides the structural strength longer nails demand. These are an intermediate step up — if you haven't yet mastered sizing and product control on #1 and #2, we recommend building those skills first.
- Longitudinal arch: Straight — ideal for tapered extension geometry
- C-curve: 30% — good sidewall coverage, manageable depth
- Apex: Pronounced — structural support for longer lengths
- Cuticle edge: Thin & flexible — can be cut to fit
- Sizes: 0–13 · 140 forms per box
- Short to longer tapered extensions
- Standard nail profiles with moderate C-curves
- Coffin and almond shapes on longer extensions
- Techs comfortable with sizing, product volume & flash curing
- Building structured length with a clean tapered sidewall
